Metallica has officially announced an extension of their acclaimed 72 Seasons tour, set to grace numerous North American cities in 2025. The legendary band will once again be joined longtime collaborators Pantera and Ice Nine Kills, who have been part of their extensive world tour over the past two years. In an exciting twist, they will also introduce new support acts, Limp Bizkit and Suicidal Tendencies, who will join select dates throughout the tour.
Kicking off in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 12, the tour will culminate in Denver, Colorado, on June 29, encompassing a total of 21 performances. Among these, Metallica will headline notable festivals such as Sick New World in Las Vegas and the Sonic Temple festival at Ohio’s Historic Crew Stadium.
A highlight of this metallica tour 2025 inaugural performance in Blacksburg, Virginia—home to the Virginia Tech Hokies, who have famously utilized Metallica’s iconic “Enter Sandman” as their entrance theme for two decades.
As the band wraps up the second year of their 72 Seasons world tour, with final shows scheduled in Mexico City this month, fans have noted the absence of European dates accompanying this North American leg. This is particularly curious given that Ireland has not hosted the band since 2019. It’s possible, however, that additional dates for Fall 2025 are forthcoming.
Interestingly, today also marked a significant announcement from another heavy metal titan, Iron Maiden, celebrating their 50th anniversary world tour. With both tours announced, 2025 is poised to be a thrilling year for metal enthusiasts, with more tour announcements likely on the horizon.
The M72 tour commenced in Amsterdam in 2023 and has already captivated over three million fans, showcasing the band’s unique No Repeat Weekend tradition, where each two-night stand features entirely different setlists and support acts.
